Man sentenced to life term for murder
Nalgonda: First Additional District and Sessions Judge C P Vindeshwari on Monday sentenced Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy to life imprisonment in a murder case.
According to prosecution, Vishnuvardhan Reddy had invited Gutha Rajendr Reddy to his house for a liquor party in Brahammana Vellemla village on June 21, 2014. Vishnuvardhan Reddy murdered Rajrender Reddy with a sharp weapon when the latter was drunk, the prosecution said.
The police took up the investigation based on a complaint by Rejeandra Reddy’s wife Gutha Haritha on June 22. The complaint stated that Rajendra Reddy went to the village from Nalgonda. After completing the work in his agriculture fields, he stayed back in the village.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy had invited Rajender Reddy for a liquor party the next day. When his wife and his sister contacted him, Rajender Reddy told them that he was with Vishnuvardhan Reddy, the prosecution said.
The prosecution alleged that Vishnuvardhan Reddy after committing the murder fled the spot on a motorcycle. He left the motorcycle in Nalgonda bus station and escaped.
Circle Inspector Raghava Rao investigated the case initially. Later Circle Inspector Praveen completed the investigation examining 12 witnesses. Sub-Inspector Praneeth Kumar registered the case under Section 302 IPC.
Evidence of VRO Dubba Yadaiah deposed. Apart from life term sentence, a fine 10,000 was imposed on Vishnuvardhan Reddy.
Additional public prosecutor N Gopal Krishna submitted evidence to the court. Liaison officers Ratnam,V Srinivasulu and Narketpally sub-inspector Goverdhan extended their help to the prosecutor.
