CPM trying to regain its lost ground in Telangana

Khammam: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) leaving are sparing no effort in giving wide publicity to the party’s national conference to be held in Hyderabad between April 18 and 22.

This is the first the CPI-M is holding the conference in the State after the formation of separate Telangana. It is to be noted that the Left parties have strong support in Khammam district. The Left parties have played a key role in elections time and again.

The CPI-M leaders are making all-round efforts to give a wide publicity to the party’s national conference through various methods like door-to-door campaign, displaying of huge flexies, demonstration of 1,111 foot long party flag, designing a motor bike with as many as 22 big flags, drawing parties logo with 22 foot long logo and drawing rangoli, motor bike rallies, etc.

Along with giving wide publicity for the national conference, the leaders of the CPI-M party also focused on various public issues during the past one-and-half month such as condemning the attack on Syria in the name of civil war, demanding that the government withdraw the decision to allow private universities and shifting of the dumping yard from Dhanvaigudem, besides the ATMs going dry.

They also organised ‘Bus Yatra’ across the State which entered into Khammam district on March 28 and covered major mandals such as Kusumanchi, Khammam rural and urban, Bonakal, Wyra and Enkoor mandals of the district.

 During Bus Yatra, CPI-M State Secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram said Bahujana Left Front (BLF) comprising 28 political parties would field candidates in all 119 constituencies.

Party State leader Pothineni Sudharshan Rao said an action plan would be prepared at the party’s national conference to strengthen the party in Telangana State. CPI-M District Secretary Nunna Nageshwar Rao said the party’s national conference would give a boost to the party in the dstrict.
