Khammam CPM leaders demands extension of date
Khammam: District leaders of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Yerra Srikanth here on Friday demanded that the government extend the date for submission of photocopies copies of pattas of lands distributed to the poor people by the government in 2009.
The CPI-M leaders along with beneficiaries submitted a memorandum to the Mandal Revenue Officer to this effect here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Srikanth said in 2009 then government had distributed about 3,000 pattas to the poor in two phases by identifying land in survey No. 218 at Raghunathapalem mandal. But the land was not physically handed over to the beneficiaries.
He also said that after the formation of TRS government, the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao and local MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar promised to ensure that the beneficiaries secure the land.
Recently, the government issued a notification, asking the beneficiaries to submit the photocopies of the land pattas in the MRO office. Most of the beneficiaries, who are daily wage earners, are not aware of the notification, he said, urging the government to extend the date for submission of the photocopies.
CPI-M party leaders Y Srinivas Rao, T Lingayya, S K Babu, P Upendra Chary, S K Qasim, S Veerababu, D Ravi and Lakshmayya were present at the programme.
