Decks cleared for launch of Rythu Bandhu on May 10
Khammam: The district administration is making all necessary arrangements for the launch of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS), the prestigious project of the State government on May 10 across the State. The Agriculture department in coordination with the Revenue, Horticulture, Marketing and Banking departments is gearing up for the distribution of cheques under RBS transparently without giving any scope for irregularities. The bankers were also directed to pay cash immediately after farmers deposit their cheques and financial inputs of Rs. 4,000 per acre in banks.
The officials of Agriculture department deployed 24 teams and are organising awareness programmes in the villages. Steps are being taken for displaying the list of beneficiaries on the notice boards at Revenue and Panchayat Raj offices one day before the distribution of cheques. Besides, it is giving wide publicity to the programme through various methods.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Tuesday, Joint Director of Agriculture Department Jhansi Lakshmi said that elaborate arrangements were made for the perfect implementation of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme without any hurdles.
Along with conducting awareness programmes in all villages, necessary steps were also taken up for conveying the information to the beneficiaries through the Postal Department and by giving wide publicity about the scheme along with deploying 24 teams for perfect implementation of the scheme in the district, she added.
Cheques worth Rs.260.51 will be distributed to about 2,70,067 members of the farmers. If any farmer, for some reason, fails to attend the Grama Sabha meeting on the day of cheque distribution, the officials will go to the farmer’s house and hand over the cheques, she added.
