Rythu Bandhu scheme, a radical venture to help farmers: Energy Minister
Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy said that the Rythu Bandu scheme was a radical program that makes agriculture a profitable venture in the State.
Participating in an awareness programme on the Rythu Bandhu Scheme where he was the chief guest in the town on Monday, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has paid special attention on the agricultural sector on which 55 per cent of the state population depends.
Stating that the Rythu Bandhu scheme should not be seen as a cheques distribution program, he said that it would definitely bring radical changes in the agriculture sector in the State.
He said that the Chief Minister has succeeded in making it easy for farmers to buy fertilizers and seeds without having to stand in long queues.
Farmers need not to fear to encash their cheques as the State government has already made arrangements for the purpose. The State government has already deposited Rs 5,000 crore for the clearance of cheques.
Rythu Samanvaya Samithi State chairman, MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy informed that State government has made all necessary arrangements for the distribution to 58 lakhs farmers in the State. He suggested to the officials to categorize the villages into A,B,C groups depending upon the number of beneficiaries for easy distribution of the cheques.
Cheques to NRIs would be presented only if they were physical present along with their Aadhaar number Pattadhar passbooks, he said.
District Collectors of Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri-Bhongir district Gaurav Uppal, Surendra Mohan, Anitha Ramachandran , Police officials AV Ranghanath, Ramchandra Reddy, Prakash Jadav, MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Govrnment whip Gongidi Sunitha, MLAs V Veeresham, G Kishore, P Shekar Reddy, K Prabhakar Reddy and others were present.
The programme was jointly organised by officials of the the Agriculture and Revenue department for elected representatives held at Nalgonda.
