Cough up service charges or face protests: Yadagirigutta Sarpanch

Yadagirigutta: Yadagirigutta Sarpanch Budida Swamy on Friday on behalf of panchayat served a notice on Yadadri temple Executive Officer Geetha Reddy for not paying sanitary charges for the last three years. He threatened to stage demonstration on the hillock if the arrears are not paid immediately.

According to sarpanch, the Yadadri temple authority had been paying 30 percent of the temple budget to Yadagirigutta Gram Panchayat in returnfor the services rendered by panchayat staffon the hillock for the last 60 years. The Panchayat is utilising the revenue for development of Yadagirigutta village. 

But the temple authorities, the sarpanch said, had abruptly stopped paying service charges for the last three years. The Gram Panchayath served notice on the temple Executive Officer,demanding payment of arrears to the tune of Rs 1.40 crore within four days. The sarpanch threatened to stage demonstrations on the hillock if the authorities failed to pay arrears.
