Govt committee to bolster farm sector: Tummala Nageswara Rao
Khammam: The farmers in the State will cultivate three crops in coming up days, said the Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Friday. The Minister was distributing the Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks to the farmers here in Konijerla mandal on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was committed to bolster the farm sector and ensure that the farmers benefit financially. Even though many programmes were launched for the well- being of farmers, they were in distress. To make them happy and restore their confidence, the Chief Minister launched Rythu Bandhu scheme, said the Minister.
Nageswara Rao advised the farmers to utilise the money sanctioned to them under Rythu Bandhu scheme for cultivation purpose only. Cheques worth Rs 400 crores were distributed to farmers under scheme in the first phase in the united Khammam district, said the Minister.
He said the government was constructing warehouse with the storage capacity 23 lakh tonnes in the district for the sake of farmer. DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu said the state government was launching a number of schemes and constructing a number of projects. The farmers need not go to moneylenders and bankers for crop loans, he said.
Wyra MLA Banothu Madan Lal, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, Rural Development Officer Purnchandram, Wyra Market Committee chairman Banothu Narasimha Rao, ZP Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh and public representatives were present at the programme.
