Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali said the State government’s exercise to purify land records paved way for easy implementation of Rs 12,000 crore Rythu Bandhu scheme, farmers’ investment support scheme. He along with Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari took part in the distribution of pattadar passbooks and cheques to farmers at Kyatanpally under Dharmasagar mandal on Friday.

“Telangana government is the one and only in the country to implement such a magnificent scheme that directly helps the farmers, this is in addition to the 24-hour free power supply,” Mahmood Ali said. The uninterrupted power supply is a slap in the face of those Telangana detractors who predicted darker days for the region if Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated, he added.

Kadiyam Srihari said that purification of lands and implementation of Rythu Bandhu set a new beginning for the State. “The nation is awestruck seeing the kind of development in Telangana. Gone are the days of waiting for power supply, standing in queues for fertilisers and seed,” Srihari added.

He said that the upcoming Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is a game changer in the history of Telangana as it caters to the irrigation and drinking water needs of the region. The Opposition is not ready to accept the kind of development taking place in the State, he added.

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that Rythu Bandhu scheme will benefit 58 lakh farmers in the State. This apart, the government is providing free power supply to 23 lakh pump sets.

“Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, being the son of a farmer himself, is well aware of the problems faced by the farming community. While the Chief Minister is trying to give the best to the farmers, it is not going down well with the Opposition party leaders who are envious of K Chandrashekar Rao’s increasing popularity,” Reddy said.

Farmers’ Coordination Committee State president Gutha Sukhender Reddy said that Rythu Bandhu is one of those schemes that set a direction to the entire nation. “The State government is well and truly on its course to provide irrigation facility to one crore acres,” Sukhender Reddy said and further stated that Telangana has become cynosure of all eyes in the country.

Zilla Parishad chairperson G Padma, Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash, Warangal MP Pasunuri Dayakar, Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah, Principle Secretary (Revenue) Rajesh Tiwary, Agriculture Commissioner Parthasarathy, Land Records Purification Mission Special Officer Vakati Karuna, Warangal Urban District Collector Amrapali Kata and Joint Collector S Dayanand were among others present. Later, the Ministers also distributed cheques and pattadar passbooks at Atmakur in Warangal Rural district.
