Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao exhorts farmers to take advantage of welfare schemes
Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Tuesday exhorted the farmers to take advantage of various welfare schemes meant for them.
The Minister on Tuesday visited Palair Constituency and distributed cheques to the farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme at Nelakondapalli, Cheruvumadaram and Kusumanchi mandals.
Speaking on the occasion, the Nageswara Rao said the credit for launching the Rythu Bandhu scheme should go to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
When the TRS government was extending a helping hand to farmers by introducing various welfare schemes, the leaders of Opposition parties were unnecessarily making charges against the TRS party. If they continued to create hurdles in the way of developmental activities, the people would teach them a fitting lesson, said the Minister.
After coming to power, the TRS government was striving for uplifting the farming sector for the last four years. He listed out several measures taken.
MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the TRS government was pro-farmer. Later, the Minister and the MP distributed the Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks to farmers.
Revenue Divisional Officer Purnachandram, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh, ZPTC, MPP, MPTC members and local representatives were present at the programme.
