Engineering admissions will be completed by June-end: TSCHE chief
Choutuppal (Yadadri- Bhongir): Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman T Papi Reddy here on Friday stated that admission process into engineering colleges would be completed by June-end and classes for first year students would commence from July.
Speaking to media at MMR physical education college at Thangdapally under Choutuppal mandal, Papi Reddy said there were 222 engineering colleges in last year. The number of colleges may come down to 200 this year, he said.
Inspection of colleges is a continuous process, he said and added that college managements are also extending their cooperation in maintaining standards. There is drastic change in engineering education system for the last three years and very few students are opting engineering colleges located in rural areas.
He appreciated Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for announcing two per cent reservation for sportspersons in government jobs and said that physical education in the state acquired importance TSPECET State convener Satyanaryana, MMR College Trust members Yadava Reddy, Anantha Reddy, director Ramnarsimha Reddy, Principal Satyanarayana Raju and others were present at the programme.
