TRS Govt committed to welfare of weaker sections: Minister G Jagadish Reddy

Suryapet: Energy and Scheduled Caste Development Minister G Jagadish Reddy here on Friday said successive governments in the past had neglected the development of weaker sections. It is the TRS government which has launched welfare programmes for the weaker sections.

The Minister was laying foundation stone in Suryapet town for the construction of Yerukula community building at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh under Tribal Plan funds. Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said the State government has been allocating funds to construct community buildings to all sections of the people in the State.

He directed the officials concerned to complete the proposed two-floor building in a span of three months.
He promised to lay foundation stones for the community buildings of various sections in Suryapet town at the earliest.

He said he would make efforts for all-round development of Suryapet and place it on the top of the State. He sought the cooperation of the officials and people to develop the town. He promised to develop the Pullareddy pond as mini tank bund on a par with Saddala cheruvu in the town.

He also assured the Yerukala community that he would provide employment to them by replacing bamboo baskets in the place of plastic baskets to collect litter from the houses. The aim of state government is to provide welfare activities for the development of oppressed sections of the society, he asserted.

Municipal Chairperson Ganduri Pravallika,Market Committee chairman Y.Venkateshwarlu, District Library Chairman Srinivas Goud, Municipal Commissioner Shankar, councillors and local TRS leaders participated in the programme.
