KCR Govt committed to welfare of Minorities: Tummala Nageswara Rao

Khammam: Minister for Roads and Buildigns Tummala Nageswara Rao here on Wednesday said the State government has been taking all measures, including allocating funds, for the welfare of the Minorities. The Minister was distributing clothes to around 1,200 Muslims of Nelakondapalli, Kusumanchi and Thirumalayapalem mandals, besides Dummaigudem and Muddulapalli villages under Khammam rural mandal on the occasion of Ramzan here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao allotted Rs 2,000 crores in the budget for the development of the Muslims.

The government established residential schools to promote education for the children belonging to Muslim community. The government had also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh each for Nelakondapalli, Kusumanchi, Thirumalayapalem mandals for construction of Shadikhanas.

Industries Development Corporation chairman Budan Baig said the State government was spending Rs 1,25,000 on each Muslim student for providing quality education. He pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had introduced Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes in the State. No other State had introduced these scheme, he said

MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, ATMA Committee Chairman Maddi Malla Reddy, Revenue Divisional Officer Purnachandram, Agriculture Market Committee Chairman Shakamuri Ramesh, Minority Welfare Officer Ramesh, members of Farmers Coordination Committee of various mandals, MPP, ZPTC, members and village Sarpanches were present at the programme.
