Blood donation keeps one healthy: Peddapalli Collector
Peddapalli: Donation of blood not only save fellow human being, but also keeps the donor healthy and fit, observed District Collector Devasena here on Friday.
The Collector participated in the ‘Mega Blood Donation Camp’ organised by the District Medical and Health Department as part of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at the Government Hospital in Peddapalli and donated blood along with others. Speaking on the occasion, Devasena said as many as 44 donors voluntarily participated in the blood donation camp that was organised as part of the State Formation Day celebrations.
There were some wrong conceptions about blood donation among people, she said, adding that any healthy person could donate blood twice or thrice in a year. More blood would be generated in the body than the quantity of blood donated. Moreover, donation of blood saved the life a fellow human being and brought him back from the claws of death, she said.
The Collector appreciated the persons who voluntarily came forward for donating blood on the occasion. District Medical and Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr Pramod Kumar, Peddapalli Hospital Superintendent Banka Mallesham and other officials were present along with the hospital staff.
