Woman’s death triggers protest in Mahbubnagar
Mahbubnagar: A pregnant woman, who was admitted to Mahbubnagar district hospital two days ago, died of medical complications on Friday, a day after delivering a baby.
According to relatives, Srilatha gave birth to a baby. A day after she gave birth to a baby, surgeons operated on her as complications arose. She died during the surgery, the relatives said.
The relatives of the deceased women alleged that Srilatha died because of negligence of doctors. “The doctors and health workers failed to perform surgery perfectly,” the relatives said.
The hospital staff, Srilatha parents alleged, had shown utter negligence and even tried to discharge patient a day after she gave birth to a baby.
Upon learning about the incident Paramesh Goud, CPI general secretary of Mahbubnagar district, along with the party workers, expressed solidarity with the agitating relatives of the deceased patient and asked the hospital staff to readmit the baby and provide treatment.
They also demanded that the government pay an ex gratia of Rs 12 lakh to the victim’s family and book cases against all those doctors who had acted in a neglected manner.
