Publicise Rythu Bima scheme: Kothagudem Collector
Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu has asked all Agriculture Officers to visit villages and publicise the Rythu Bima scheme among the farmers.
He was addressing a meeting with all Revenue Officers and Agricultural Officers at District Rural Development Office on Friday. The District Collector said the government has introduced a new scheme named Rythu Bima for farmers.
He explained officials thesalient features of the scheme and how it would benefit the farmers. He said, the Rythu Bima scheme is purely for farmers and particularly those who have got passbooks and Aadhaar Cards are eligible for this scheme.
He said, the scheme benefit is Rs.5 lakh for the farmers. The insurance period of the scheme is one year from 15th August, 2018 to 14th August, 2019. And if during this one year period if the beneficiary dies, his family will get Rs. 5lakh under the scheme, he said. The farmers who are in the age group of 18 years to 59 years are eligible, said the Collector.
All the agriculture officers should visit to the field level and give wide publicity of the schemes among the farmers and make it a success, said the Collector. Joint Collector M.RamKishan, District Revenue Office Kiran Kumar, Sub-Collector Abhishek Mishra, RDO Ravindernath, and Agricultural Director Abhimanyudu and other officers attend the meeting.
