Mahbubnagar CPI leaders stages protests against price rise
Mahbubnagar: The Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders staged a protest at Telangana Chowrasta on Wednesday and demanded that State and central governments immediately roll back the rising prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and daily use items which are creating a lot of financial stress on the poor people in the district.
CPI district secretary Paramesh Goud, who led the protest at Telangana Junction in Mahbubnagar, flayed the wrong policies of both the state and central government and said that both the BJP government at the Centre and TRS government in the state are favouring the corporates and big businesses and ignoring the plight of poor people.
“Mahbubnagar is one of the most backward districts in Telangana having more than 70 per cent of its population depending on agriculture and daily wage for their living. During the past 4 years both the state and Central governments have been adopting policies which are against the people’s wishes,” said Pramesh Goud.
“The KCR government is taking lands from the poor SC, ST and BCs in the name of projects and has not initiated any long-term measures for their sustainable living,” the CPI leader said. “On the other hand, the continuous rise in petrol and diesel prices has also resulted in the rise in the prices of daily use commodities which has burnt deep holes in the pockets of the poor. Therefore, we have decided to protest against the wrong policies of these governments and will fight until the government rolls back the rising fuel prices,” said further said.
The CPI leader alleged that the poor are facing tough time with rising prices and that both the governments are hands in glove and taking anti-people policies for their own selfish gains, Goud said.
Balkishan, Suresh, working members of CPI from Mahbubnagar, AISF state president Ramulu, Bhasha, Raitu Sangam district president, Raju, AISF district vice president and others took part in the protest.
