ACB traps Transco engineer in Vemulapally
Vemulapally (Nalgonda): Anti-Corruption officials here on Friday claimed to have trapped an Assistant Engineer of Transco red- handed while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor.
The ACB officials said Sridhar, Transco Assistant Engineer in Vemulapally mandal in the district, was arrested after he was caught red-handed while receiving bribe at his residence.
The officials said Sridhar Reddy demanded the bribe of Rs 60,000 to clear bills pertaining to contractor Kiran Reddy. A case was booked against the Kiran Reddy and he would be produced before ACB court in Hyderabad, ACB DSP Krishna said.
The complainant Kiran Reddy alleged that Assistant engineer Sridhar Reddy had troubled him a lot and refused to clear the bills. Therefore, he approached the ACB, contractor said.
