SCCL to install ACs in miners quarters soon
Kothagudem: Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has earned a net profit of Rs. 1,212 crore in the financial year 2017-18, said Chairmen and Managing Director N.Sridhar.
On Wednesday, a directors meeting was held at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad. Giving details, Sridhar said the company earned a net profit of Rs. 1,212 crore after tax during the 2017-18, registering a growth of 207 per cent against the last fiscal’s profit of Rs. 395 crore.
The company expects better performance in the in current financial year 2018-19, he added. The CMD said that he would soon meet the Chief Minister to discuss bonus and other issues for the welfare of workers. The company plans to implement more welfare schemes for workers in this year, he said.
The SCCL board has also cleared a proposal to install air conditioners in all the quarters of miners in the SCCL colonies at a cost of Rs 60 crore. Instructions were being issued to take up the works on war footing for installation of air conditioners, wiring, switch boards and transformers, the SCCL press release said. The board had also cleared several proposals for purchase of equipment and other works pertaining to underground mines and opencast ones too.
Directors of SCCL S.Chandra Sekhar, S.Shanker, and State Government Finance Chief Secretary K. Rama Krishna, WCL CMD RR.Mishra, Union Ministry of coal secretary Syed Ashref SCCL GM M.NarsiReddy, and Secretary in affairs of the Singareni G.Srinivas attended the meeting.
