Telangana Govt keen on betterment of sanitary staff in Kothagudem

Kothagudem: Brought to knees by the striking panchayat staff, the district administration in now trying to pacifying them citing many schemes to improve their living standards.  

On Friday, a vigilance monitoring meeting was held at Collectorate. Addressing the meeting, District Revenue Officer Kiran Kumar said the government has plans for improving the living standards of the sanitary workers in the State.  As part of this scheme, they will be provided the government loans.

The government is conducting awareness camps for workers to make them aware of the government schemes. The government officials will hold meeting with sanitary staff in three centers at Kothagudem, Bhadrachalam and Yeallandu. 

After the meetings, the government will make the sub committees of Revenue Divisional Officers in all mandals, he said.  The sub-committees will conduct meeting every tree months to review the progress of the development with the district officers.  In that review meetings the officers will discuss new measures to be taken for the development of workers, he added. 

The government has decided to fill the jobs which are vacant in the Railways and Singareni Collieries Company Limited areas with the sanitary staff he said.  He also saught the municipal commissioners’ help for the construction of Sulabh Complexes in the municipalities limits to ease the work burden of the sanitary workers.

The government is also having a plan to provide the Central government scholarship to the children of the sanitary staff, he added. This year, the Schedule Caste Corporation provided loans to the sanitary staff, he said and asked the sanitary workers to apply to the corporations for the loans immediately.

District Rural Development Agency Project Director P. Jagath Kumar Reddy, SC Corporation Executive Director Puli Raju,  Lead bank manager Pulla Rao, district president of Sanitary workers Kalyan Mallikarjuna Rao, member Bupathi Appa Rao attended the meeting.
