Kanti Velugu awareness programme held in Nalgonda

Nalgonda: Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy here on Wednesday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been focussing his attention on promoting improving services in government hospitals. The Chief Minister was also making efforts to ensure that government schools provide quality education to the children.

He was launching awareness programme on Kanti Velugu at a function hall Nalgonda for elected representatives and officials. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said the Chief Minister had launched the Kanti Velugu programme. As many as 180 medical teams were formed in erstwhile Nalgonda district for the purpose. Each team consists of 10 members. Besides this, 2,000 supporting staff of different departments would extend their support to the teams during the camps.

Principal Secretary of Health A Shantha kumari said those who wold undergo test would be given spectacles. The first phase of Kanti velugu programme will be conducted from August 15 to January 15, she said. As many 140 eye hospitals including government and private clinics were identified for conducting surgeries.

Nalgonda District Collector Gaurav Uppal, Suryapet District Collector K Surendra Mohan, Yadadri- Bhongir District Collector Anitha Ramachandran, TSFDC chairman Banda Narender Reddy, ZP Chairman Balu Naik, MLAs Vemula Veeresham, Bhaskar Rao, K Prabhakar Reddy, G Kishore , elected public representatives and officials of erstwhile Nalgonda district participated.
