Demolition of dargah wall for road works sparks protest at Kodangal
Kodangal: As part of road widening works in Kodangal mandal, the compound wall of a dargah located on the road side of Hyderabad to Beedar National Highway, near Ravulapally village was demolished on Friday with an aim to make way for the road construction.
Over this the MIM party leaders and its workers staged a protest in Kodangal and said that removing of compound wall of the dargah is not correct as it would be against the sentiments of a section of society.
“The road works department has removed the compound wall of the Darga which is not correct. It may enrage the religious sentiments of people and may lead to communal violence.
Therefore we are condemning such acts by the road works authority. We have even given a representation to the Tahasildar of Kodangal over the acts of the highway authorities,” informed S. B. Gulshan, MIM Kodangal Taluka president.
