The Chief Minister said that the Upper Manair Dam won’t be dried up adding that the southern part of Karimnagar district would be always 'alive' with the existing works in progress.

He also reviewed works on the canals under Mallanna Sagar and wanted the water to flow to Singur on gravity adding that more land would come under cultivation under the gravity route.

KCR stated that open canal works are over from Mid Manair to Anantagiri and the remaining tunnel works will be completed soon.

In order to make the state drought proof, KCR announced that the check dams will be constructed on the tributaries Manjira, Dundubhi, Kanagal, Musi, and Pakala.
