Congress demands CBI probe into Boddupalli's murder
Nalgonda : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of Nalgonda Municipal Chairperson B Laxmi’s husband Boddupalli Srinivas.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy, Leader of Opposition in Council Shabbir Ali, Congress senior leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and V Hanumantha Rao, DCC president B Bixamaiah Goud and others consoled the family members of Srinivas and paid floral tributes to the late Congress leader at his residence in Nalgonda.
Speaking to media persons later, the TPCC president slammed the TRS Government and police machinery for ignoring Srinivas plea for security. He said Srinivas had been receiving threatening calls. He said along with Laxmi and Srinivas, CLP deputy leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had met Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao requesting for security as there was threat to his life. But the TRS Government did not provide any security which consquently resulted in Srinivas' murder. Since the people suspected to be involved in the murder hold top positions in the government, he demanded that the CBI enquiry be ordered into the incident.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the politics of murders was not good for anyone, he said that the police department should perform its duties as per law without showing any favours to the ruling party leaders.
Jana Reddy strongly condemned the incident and demanded that the guilty should be arrested immediately. Shabbir Ali alleged that Nalgonda DSP S. Sudhakar was working at the behest of some ruling party leaders and demanded his transfer to ensure fair investigation of the case.
