KCR announces medical diagnostic tests for everyone in every Telangana village
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday held a review meeting of the Medical and Health Department at Pragathi Bhavan where he brought focus to the point that everyone undergoes diagnostic tests on a regular basis in countries like the US.
He said that people in Telangana also should be educated to take up diagnostic tests regularly. However, the Chief Minister mentioned that while the ones with awareness and money might be willing but the poor living in villages and rural areas seldom take up diagnostic tests which makes it difficult for the disease to be detected in the initial stages.
He said that the early detection helps in curing the disease, hence the government will conduct tests for everyone in every village on a regular basis.
KCR instructed the officials to plan an effective health check-up scheme with the patient getting treatment free of cost once the illness is detected.
The Chief Minister observed that since the formation of Telangana, the public health system had undergone a drastic change which can be witnessed in the improvement of the government hospitals.
Urging for the same spirit to continue, he urged the officials to ensure that the medical care reaches the doorsteps of the poor in rural areas.
Stating that the objective is to make Telangana the leader in public health across the country, KCR gave instructions to converge several categories of doctors and staff working in rural areas to take all preventive steps.
