Pregnant woman's murder in Hyderabad: Prime suspect identified

The gruesome murder of a pregnant woman who was found chopped up near Botanical Gardens in Kondapur, Hyderabad has been solved by the Cyberabad police.

The woman, identified as Pinky was a native of Bihar and based on eye-witnesses who noticed her in the area, a portrait was prepared by experts from the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

The body was found at Sri Ram Nagar, next to Botanical Gardens and the post-mortem examination revealed that the woman was eight-months pregnant. Also, she may have been beaten before she was killed.

Police analysed CCTV footage and found a man riding a bike with a woman seen sitting behind holding a heavy bag.

The main accused has been identified as Pinky's husband, Vikas Kashyap, and Amarkanth Jha, a bartender, both are absconding.

According to the Cyberabad Police, two people were taken into custody - Amarkanth’s parents – Mamtha Jha and Anil Jha as the murder are linked to a dispute between Amarkanth’s family and Kashyap.

Amarkanth Jha had been traced to Bihar and would be taken into custody soon while Vikas is still absconding. 

Further details are expected to be revealed on Tuesday.
