Telugu pride is at stake: Botsa Satyanarayana

Hyderabad: YSR Congress has said that the fight for Special Category Status (SCS) is to uphold the pride of Telugu people as it was mortgaged in Delhi by Chandrababu Naidu who has been mum on the issue as he was always placing his personal interests ahead of the state interests.

Our relentless fight and the resignations are for the state interests unlike TDP MPs who have been enacting dramas as per the script as the two union ministers were sitting in the treasury benches when the protests were on, which shows who is sincere on the SCS issue, Party MP YS Subba Reddy and senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Wednesday.

Now things are clear like chalk and cheese as to who is sincere on the SCS and who has been resorting to theatrics and the TDP leaders and ministers passing remarks and expressing doubts on our resignations only shows how shallow they could think of. The fact remains that the present 15th Lok Sabha came into being in the last week of May 2014 while the first session was convened from June 4, 2014.

Instead of cooperating with us in achieving the SCS, TDP leaders are trying to distort the sanctity of the of noble cause and they should also explain as to why Chandrababu Naidu has been silent after the Union Budget was announced without any benefits to the State. It was he who shifted his base and the governance to Vijayawada in a hurry after the cash for vote case.

Two ministers rubbing shoulders in the union cabinet and other MPs stating protest dramas has brought out the intentions of the TDP very clearly, they said.

We have declared that SCS is the lifeline and our fight will continue and will intensify till it is achieved, they said.

We will picket all District Collector offices on March 1 and it will be followed up by a meeting with our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on March 3 at the Praja Sankalpa Yatra and our MPs, MLAs and other leaders will hold protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

We will fight it out inside and outside the Parliament and if our demand is not conceded to we will resign as per the laid down rules on April 6, they said and slammed TDP leaders for trying to find fault with the resignations by attributing motives.

They appealed to the student leaders and intelligentsia to join the struggle for a better future as SCS is our right and there is no alternative to it.
