Chandrababu making a mockery of politics: YSRCP

Update: 2018-02-16 23:49 IST

Hyderabad: Reaffirming the Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will settle for nothing short of Special Category Status (SCS), YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has fully diluted the issue during the last four years and opined that Pawan Kalyan stand has been slanted towards TDP-BJP.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Party Spokesperson Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) said, Chandrababu Naidu has been making a mockery of politics by his incoherent stands on important issues and speaking irrelevant issues.

In the process he has buried the SCS totally but our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has kept the pot boiling and has been in the forefront organising protests in various forms and across the state and also in the national capital.

There is no alternative to SCS and special package cannot be a substitute and a joint delegation of all parties in the state go on a visit to the states that are having SCS to know firsthand how they are being benefitted and cite the latest example, the states with SCS are exempted from GST, he said.

There are 19 issues pertaining to the State which were promised during bifurcation and how many of them were broached by Chandrababu Naidu with the Centre during his four years, he said.

While our leader has announced that the Party MPs would resign as a last resort, TDP MPs and leaders are passing uncharitable remarks which shows their hallow nature. The remarks on the news stories appearing in Sakshi media group are also armature, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu has been placing his personal interests ahead of state interests and this is the root cause of Delhi neglecting the SCS issue, he said.

Reacting to the comment on cases YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing, he said, they are political in nature and were foisted by Congress and TDP in tandem for political gains. Chandrababu has always been siding with the party in power as he had come to the rescue of Krian Kumar Reddy led Congress government in the United Andhra Pradesh. He had criticised Narendra Modi after Godhra riots but aligned with him in 2014 polls.

On Pawan Kalyan, he said, his words and deeds seem to be close to BJP-TDP combine and our fight is to achieve SCS.
