Telangana’s ambitious project T-Fibre showcased at World Congress IT
Telangana government’s ambitious Internet connectivity project T-Fibre was showcased at the World Congress IT in Hyderabad on Monday.
Delegates from over 35 different countries witnessed the showcase of T-Fibre apart from Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and other dignitaries.
Aiming to provide Internet connectivity to one crore households in Telangana and make government services more accessible to the public, the T-Fibre had its pilot conducted in four villages of Maheshwaram mandal in Ranga Reddy district where farmers used the project to improve their produce.
Till the month of January, more than 30,000 km have already been laid to carry optic fibre cables.
Another flagship project of the State government, Mission Bhagiratha is taking up this project with the pipeline trenches being used for laying ducts that carry optic fibre cables.
So far, the government has tested several e-governance services using the fibre optical network such as panchayat services, Mee Seva, education, broadband Internet, health, cable television, security surveillance, IPTV services Vidya Nipuna and telephone connection.
The first phase of the project is set to be completed by June.
