Update: 2018-02-23 17:51 IST

Demanding the Telangana government to fulfil its promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslims in the state, the All India Muslim Minority Organisation (AIMMO), on Thursday reminded Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao about his assurance on the reservation.

A former member of the AP State Minorities Commission, MA Siddiqui pointed out that nothing has been done in the last four years.

Mentioning KCR’s promise of 12 percent reservation for Muslims before the formation of Telangana, he said that if the Chief Minister fails to keep his promise, Muslims won’t be willing to co-operate with his leadership.

AIMMO members also demanded Waqf properties be safeguarded and take stern action against land grabbers occupying them.
