Groom killed in Khammam road mishap, bride sustains injuries

Five people including a groom were killed and three others sustained serious injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a tree in  Khammam district.

The newly married couple along with seven relatives were en route to the groom's home in Warangal district in the wee hours of Friday after their wedding was solemnised at the bride's residence in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district on Thursday night.

However, as the wedding party reached Pallipadu in Konijerla in Khammam district, the driver reportedly dozed off and lost control of the vehicle. The car then rammed into a tree.

The deceased were identified as groom Ramakrishna Prasad, his relatives Seshachalapathi, Venu, Sridevi and Padma.

The injured included the bride, Swapna and three children who were shifted to Khammam district hospital for treatment.
