TRS MP Kavitha: We are resorting to protests in Parliament as our demands are being neglected
The Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted once again on Wednesday after members from the AIADMK and TRS continued with their protests.
The Speaker adjourned the proceedings due to protests by parties from Andhra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The members from the AIADMK, TDP and the TRS kept raising slogans and holding placards in the Well.
While the TRS is demanding hiked quota for Telangana, the TDP is seeking special status for Andhra Pradesh.
With the continuous protests, the Speaker didn’t move the no-confidence motion against the council of ministers for the fourth day and adjourned the Lok Sabha for the day.
Speaking regarding the TRS protests, MP K Kavitha said that they have been agitating for the past 15 days and nobody from the government has approached them on the issue.
Stating that the primary responsibility for letting the parliament perform lies on the government, Kavitha further said that they are resorting to protests in the parliament as their demands haven’t been heard in the past two years adding that the country needs to know the demands of the people of Telangana.
The TRS MP also added that they don’t intend to protest but there is a need for the government to address their demands.
