The Minister had even addressed the issue in the Legislative Council on Wednesday stating that the Defence Ministry is testing the patience of the people in areas surrounding the Cantonment by creating hurdles at every step adding that the Centre seems to be intent on stopping road development notwithstanding the problems faced by the public.
He further requested the Defence Ministry to resolve the issue as early as possible and added that the state government would make arrangements for getting the foundation stones laid for both their skyways - from Paradise Circle to Suchitra junction and Jubilee Bus Station to Shamirpet.
The Minister strongly objected to the closure of several roads including the arterial Gough Road by the Defence Ministry citing security issues. Mentioning that these roads had been in use for a long time and the public would face hardships if they are closed, KTR pointed out that the Ministry is neither allowing free flow of traffic nor permitting the state government to develop alternate routes.
