Hyderabad: Police bust drug racket, four held
Madhapur police special operations team and the Sanathnagar police conducted a joint operation on Monday busting a Mumbai-based drug racket.
Police arrested four persons and seized 13 gm of cocaine worth Rs 3 lakh, 9 gm of MDMA, 8 gm of heroin, seven mobile phones and a bike from them.
Four persons were apprehended on Sunday evening at Bharatnagar in Moosapet for possessing narcotic and psychotropic drugs.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the four — Mohammed Aftab Alam, a realty broker from Andheri, Emthiyaz Imam Ali Qureshi, a butcher from Kurla, Mohammed Shamim Alam, an auto driver from Goregaon, all three from Mumbai, and Rafath Mehadi Ali Khan, an event manager from Saidabad.
The three persons from Mumbai confessed to the police that they had come to Hyderabad to supply drugs to Mehadi Khan, with whom they had been in contact for the past one year.
