Alipiri security privatised

Tirupati: The security management of the all important Alipiri Checkpost is set to be privatized. Efforts are on to hand over the responsibility to a private security agency.

Several persons are questioning this decision as guns, explosives and other dangerous material have been recovered several times in the past and a private agency may not be as effective.

As many as 250 personnel in three shifts man the 12 entry points to Tirumala. Four agencies have furnished bids for the job Some agencies have already begun holding job melas.
