CAG praised revenue growth in Telangana: Harish Rao

Update: 2018-04-02 21:26 IST

Irrigation Minister Harish Rao on Monday stated that CAG has praised revenue growth in Telangana.

Speaking at a press conference in Telangana Bhavan, he said, “CAG is a nationwide organization which has praised the TRS government for giving greater importance to the Telangana Welfare. Everyone is looking towards public welfare in terms of experience. Congress is unnecessarily creating issues about the CAG report.”

He further said, “If Congress continues to keep up the same activities, they will not be able to hold on to the Opposition status next time. Discussion in this regard is the loss of Congress. People recognise that there is no truth in Congress's assurances.”

The Minister further demanded the Congress to fulfil the promises made during their governance. Mentioning that Karnataka Minister Revanna himself congratulated Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on providing free power to the state, he said that the Congress leaders are blocking the state’s development with irrelevant cases.

“The farmers should stand up to Congress leaders who are putting up a front with the Bus Yatra," said Harish Rao.

On the CAG report, he said, “While the Congress was in power, the CAG report was called Biblia, Bhagwad Gita or Quran. Now the CAG report is being called Brahmastham.”

Harish Rao said that the CAG report showed corruption in Narendra Modi's nine-year rule in Gujarat but added there is no corruption allegation in the KCR regime which is the reason the Congress is raising an objection on the CAG report.
