Women constables in Telangana to don new uniform
Telangana policewomen are all set to get a new dress code. Women constables have often faced issues with Khaki salwar-kameez with dupatta and sarees while tackling protesters on the streets.
Now, the Police department has shortlisted two options for the dress code by a designer, Aakansha Maheshwari who is the creative executive of a city fashion studio, I-Brand and alumni of National Institute of Fashion Technology.
The shortlisted designs for the new uniform for women constables in the State include pant-shirt with waistcoat and salwar kameez with a waistcoat.
Director General of Police M. Mahender Reddy said that women cops in their current attire are facing difficulties while attending to their duties which is the reason, the proposal to change the uniform for women constables is being considered adding that the final decision is yet to be taken.
