YSRCP activists stage protests on National Highway demanding special status
Akiveedu:The activists of YSR Congress Party formed human chain on National Highway of Prattipadu-Pamarru at Akiveedu village in West Godavari district on Tuesday, demanding the Centre to accord Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh.
In response to a call given by YSRCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy and in support of YSRCP MPs indefinite fast at Delhi, the activists led by Undi Assembly constituency YSRC Party convener PVL Narasimha Raju reached the National Highway in the village.
The party workers formed human chain. Following the agitation, traffic on national highway stranded for hours. The party Convener PVL Narasimha Raju has said that the agitation was taken up in support of the MPs indefinite fast at New Delhi for the SCS.
He demanded the Centre to accord SCS to the state. Party leaders Gunda Sundara Ramanaidu, Gulipilli Accarao, Jaggurotu Vijay, Nandyala Sitaramaiah, Sheikh Hussain and others led the agitation.
