Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao meets H D Deve Gowda over the formation of Third Front on Friday
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao met former Prime Minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) chief H D Devegowda on Friday at his Bengaluru residence where they held discussions on the possibility of a third front in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
KCR reached Deve Gowda's residence at around 12.30 PM with veteran actor Prakash Raj, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Members of Parliament (MPs) Vinod and Sathosh also seen accompanying them.
Speaking to the media, KCR recalled as to how he had sought support from Deve Gowda during the Telangana movement which the latter agreed which boosted the morale of the ones fighting for Telangana.
Thanking him for the same, he said, “Now, we are proposing for a movement for the country as there needs to be a qualitative change in the country. These two systems called Congress and BJP have ruled for more than 65 years and have miserably failed in delivering for the country.”
On Cauvery water issue, KCR said, “Why should there be a fight for Cauvery water between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka? Why has the issue been kept pending for seven decades? It is the record of the Central Water Commission of India that the country has been bestowed with 70,000 tmc of water and the area cultivable is only 40 crore acres. People have waited for so long - neither there is water for drinking nor for agriculture.”
The Chief Minister further asserted, “Our only aim is to allineation of farmers of India for which we are planning a big agenda before the 2019 elections. I have come to seek Deve Gowda’s blessings and he has extended his support to the cause. Our initiative is a people's Front and a common man's Front."
