YSRCP condemns TDP govt for trying to scuttle AP bandh

Hyderabad:  YSR Congress has said that Chandrababu Naidu has exposed his true colours by trying to scuttle the state bandh seeking Special Category Status (SCS) and he is still unable to comprehend the impact of the status.

‘Had TDP MPs also resigned en masse it would have forced the Centre to come down to negotiations but his agenda has been different and he had been changing his tune many times and always was against public interest,’  party senior leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu told reporters here on Monday.

Instead of extending support to get SCS, Chandrababu Naidu has shown his true intent by using force and official machinery to foil the bandh, held by various parties and organisations seeking SCS for the State. It was the same man who had first said that status is not a wonder drug and shifted his stand to accepting the importance of SCS and then going back by asking his MPs not to resign.

‘Our MPs had quit the Lok Sabha and sat on indefinite fast raising the voice against the Centre and perhaps in first time in the history of Parliament a no confidence motion was moved so many times and eventually there was no scope for discussion as the House was adjourned sine die.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat on fast as the Parliament could not run as the Opposition was disrupting the proceedings but it shows that Centre could not run the House and put it in order and allowed the din to continue.

When our MPs were on indefinite fast, it is courtesy for the Government to enquire about the health or to call upon the members on fast but neither the state nor the Centre had done that.Chandrababu Naidu has been emulating Narendra Modi and announced that he would go on a day’s fast on his birth day which only adds up to his theatrics, he said.

TDP leaders have been asking why the Rajya Sabha members did not quit but the practice is that only elected members resign as a protest and TDP Lok Sabha members have earlier resigned en masse during the term Rajiv Gandhi and not he Rajya Sabha members, he said.

We condemn Chandrababu Naidu government for trying to scuttle the bandh which was organised seeking SCS and shows that he is against it, he said.
