20 passengers injured after bus falls into Nalgonda reservoir

At least 20 passengers sustained severe injuries after a bus fell into a feeder channel of a reservoir in Nalgonda district in the wee hours of Friday.

The bus, belonging to Sri Venkateshwara Travels, was heading to Hyderabad from Bhadrachalam when the mishap took place.

According to the details, the bus turned turtle and fell into the reservoir located beside National Highway 65 at Aitipamula of Kattangur mandal.

A major tragedy was averted as the water level in the feeder channel of Aitipamula reservoir was relatively low due to summer.

48 passengers were travelling in the private bus during the time of the accident and the injured were shifted the injured to Kamineni Hospital at Narketpally.
