Road infrastructure to be revamped at Hyderabad IT corridor

The IT corridor of Hyderabad is undergoing a major transformation in terms of road infrastructure. Keeping in view the traffic chaos being witnessed within the IT spaces, the decision has been taken help overcome the nightmarish experience for motorists.

Particularly during the office hours, the road from the Kukatpally side to the Biodiversity end on Gachibowli and from Jubilee Hills to Kondapur is locked with long traffic snarls and jams that take long minutes to clear.

With the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) already putting in effect its first project as an underpass at Ayyappa Society, the situation is set to improve at the IT corridor.

Under SRDP, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set construct structures providing a smooth passage for vehicles.

The structures - an underpass at Mind Space Junction, two flyovers at Biodiversity junction and one flyover at Rajiv Gandhi statue junction in Kukatpally are being constructed at a cost of Rs.379 crore.

The civic body is gearing up to launch the underpass at Mindspace Junction in a couple of days. Following the launch, the GHMC officials will be focusing on the completion of the flyover at Rajiv Gandhi statue junction in Kukatpally which will cater easy movement of traffic from Malaysian Township to JNTU second gate.

Next on the list is the two unidirectional flyovers at Biodiversity junction which will connect the IT and ITES companies, besides for reaching the Outer Ring Road.
