BJP demands Balakrishna’s suspension
BJP Telangana State Cinema Cell demanded Movie Artistes Association (MAA) to suspend Nandamuri Balakrishna from the association following his derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s Dharma Porata Deeksha on April 20. They also demanded an action on the TDP Hindupur MLA.
It may be recalled that Balakrishna, in his tirade against PM Modi said that the latter treated Andhra Pradesh like a fly struggling for survival in a cup of hot tea.
He went on to say that AP is not Gujarat and Telugu people are courageous as they showed their power when the Congress government in Delhi tried to pull down NTR government in 1984.
Following this, the BJP unit demanded action against Balakrishna and the cell convener CVL Narasimha Rao said that they would file a case against him. Also, the cell added that they would also seize NTR studio if they fail to recover the pending dues of Balakrishna to Film Development Corporation.
