Netizens laud Hyderabad police after heavy rains lashed the city
Hyderabad witnessed a downpour on Thursday resulting in flooded streets, traffic snarls and uprooted trees at several places. However, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation staff joined hands with the traffic police and eased the traffic by opening sewer lids to drain rainwater, clearing trees etc.
Sharing photos of the work done to clear the traffic on social media with #HYDTPweCareForU, the department surely earned a lot of appreciation from netizens.
Few areas like Secunderabad, Musheerabad etc witnessed hailstorm on Thursday. Uppal recorded the highest rainfall of 43.5 mm, followed by Bandlaguda at 43 mm while the lowest rainfall was recorded in Nampally with 22 mm.
A thunderstorm warning was issued by the Indian Meteorology Department across the state for the next two days.
