Nitin Gadkari to lay foundation stone for Hyderabad flyovers tomorrow

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will lay the foundation stone for the Uppal and Amberpet flyovers in Hyderabad on May 5.

Following several requests made by the Telangana government, the Centre cleared the two projects.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in association with the Roads and Buildings Department is taking up the 1.6 km flyover at Amberpet to ease the traffic flow in the city.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 467.55 crore, the project will have the share of the Central government of Rs 226.88 crore with the rest borne by the Telangana government.

Meanwhile, the Uppal flyover will have the Central government provide Rs 626.76 crore in the project costing Rs 1,395 crore and the remaining share of Rs 768.26 crore is from the state government.
