Chicken Prices Shot Up In Telugu States

Chicken lovers will have to shell out more from thier pockets to have the sumptuous dish this summer. Chicken prices shot up in Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.  

The chicken prices per Kg gone up by Rs 50 during the last fortnight. Consumers will have to pay Rs 220 per kg  skinless chicken against Rs 170 priced before the beginning of the summer.  

Poultry industry officials says the ensuing Ramzan season begins May 17 and increased input cost was the main reasons for skyrocketing the prices of chicken in the two telugu states. 

The industry representatives said sharp decline in production due to heat wave conditions and dying  birds in the scorching heat also affected badly the poultry industry this time.
