Twin Godavari leaders threaten to leave BJP

Several BJP leaders from East Godavari have threatened to resign from their posts if Somu Virraju is not made the state BJP president.

 They have strongly opposed the appointment of Kanna Lakshminarayana as the state unit president. Already Rajahmundry urban BJP presdent Bommula dattu has resigned and the urban BJP executive committee too has decided to resign from the posts.

 Some leaders from West Godavari too have threatened to resign from the party. Somu Virraju hails from Rajahmundry and has a strong following among the Kapus in twin Godavari districts. 

Similarly, Kanna Lakshminarayana too is a Kapu leader who is a four-time MLA and a former minister.
