Acid attack: Accused arrested in Ernakulam

Hyderabad police on Monday arrested a man from Kerala who attacked a 23-year-old nurse working at the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills with acid.

The accused, Pramod works at Kochi Port in Ernakulam and visited Hyderabad on May 10.

Pramod waited for the victim at the hospital and as she appeared, he followed her and threw acid at her.

Both the victim and Pramod hailed from the same place in Ernakulam. While Pramod intended to target her face, the victim suffered burns on her back.

The accused fled from the city following the attack but was traced by the police on Monday.
