Temperature dips in Hyderabad, drops by 10 degress Celsius

Update: 2018-05-15 17:11 IST

The temperature in Hyderabad has come down by almost 10 degrees Celsius due to the sudden rains in the city on Monday.

The city temperature hovering at 36.4 degrees Celsius dipped to 26.2 degrees after the heavy rains lasting for more than an hour.

Areas such as Secunderabad including Bollarum, Trimulgherry, Qutbullapur, Tarnaka, Rezimental Bazaar, Balamrai, Tukaram Gate, Alwal, and ECIL were the most affected.

Many areas were waterlogged and commuters faced difficulties due to the waterfall from the Metro rail pillars.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad, the rains were caused by the cyclonic circulation over the south-east Bay of Bengal and a trough extending from north interior Karnataka.

The IMD stated that the city is likely to witness more rains to a trough formation over Telangana on Tuesday.

Meteorologists at the IMD confirmed that Hyderabad may also receive rainfall for the next two days.
