KTR: TS Govt will launch Rythu Bheema scheme on June 2
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday distributed Rythu Bandhu cheques in Illanthakunta, Vemulawada and Yellareddypet mandals in Rajanna-Sircilla district.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the state government would soon officially launch the Rythu Bheema scheme, providing insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh to farmers from June 2 on the eve of the Telangana formation day.
He further alleged that the previous governments neglected the farm sector and harassed the farmers but added that the TRS government brought in the Rythu Bandhu scheme for the welfare of farmers and to make agriculture viable.
KTR reiterated that the Godavari river water would be provided to the upland regions of Rajanna-Sircilla district within one year and informed that the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project was progressing at brisk pace.
The Minister further urged the Centre to increase the Minimum support price to the farm produce and also link the NREGS with agriculture to benefit the farmers.
