KCR to visit HD Kumaraswamy today, will miss swearing-in ceremony

Update: 2018-05-22 21:29 IST

Speculations are doing the rounds regarding Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s participation in the swearing-in of JD(S) president HD Kumaraswamy as Karnataka chief minister on Wednesday.

KCR now has chosen to visit Bengaluru on itself to congratulate Kumaraswamy instead of tomorrow, when he will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

He will fly down to Bengaluru today evening and return to Hyderabad tonight after congratulating the new Chief Minister.

This move will definitely be seen as a step to strengthen his bond with the JD (S) and simultaneously also avoid sharing the stage with Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who is among the host of dignitaries attending the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries will also be seen at the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow.
